Somewhere along the way, we got awfully serious about what jewelry was supposed to look like. This necklace clearly wasn't paying attention.

Pearls mingle with bright chevron beads, faceted pops of color, and shiny silver accents in a combination that probably shouldn't make this much sense, but somehow it does. There's a little polish, plenty of personality, and just enough unexpected color to make you look twice.

That's what I love about this one. It brings back some of the fun we had with jewelry when we were younger, only now we get to wear it our way. And really, who decided growing up meant we had to start behaving ourselves with our accessories?

How I'd Wear It

I'd give this necklace some room to have its moment. A simple scoop or V-neck top would show off the mix of beads beautifully, but I'd also love it peeking out from an open denim shirt or paired with a solid dress. And because it already has pearls, silver, and plenty of color going on, there's really no need to hold a committee meeting over the rest of your jewelry.
